Helmets and Mouthguards
Mandatory Implementation of CSA Approved Helmets
and Intra-Oral Mouth Guards.
Hockey Northwestern Ontario would like to advise you, that by way of resolution at the HNO 2007 Annual General Meeting, the following was implemented:
1. Mandatory use of CSA Hockey Helmets by on-ice coaching personal during practices.
By regulation, the wearing of CSA hockey helmets by all on ice personal will be mandatory effective September 1st, 2007. This requirement will apply to all coaches, assistant coaches, instructors, trainers, helpers during all on ice practices.
2. Mandatory Use of Intra-Oral Mouth Guards
By regulation, the use of an intra-oral mouth guard by HNO players will be mandatory. This requirement will apply to all HNO players effective September 1st, 2007. A player failing to properly wear a mouth guard shall be assessed a Misconduct Penalty. Warnings will not be given.
